KATY Trail
The KATY Trail, the longest rails-to-trail conversion in the nation, runs across the state close to Fayette. Two trailheads are nearby, at New Franklin and at Rocheport. Visitors enjoy hiking, biking and jogging the trails throughout the year. Some consider the section at Rocheport to be the most spectacular part of the trail, as it includes rocky, white cliffs on one side of the trail and the Missouri River on the other side. The section at New Franklin goes through bottomland and rural farmland. Website
